Medina County Warrant Records Medina County Warrant Records

Start with the court named on your ticket. That single office answers most questions about a Medina County traffic warrant, because no shared status search covers every docket. A warrant here can sit on a municipal docket, in a Justice of the Peace case, or on a state citation, and each system keeps its own record. The municipal clerk, the Medina County JP court, or the Texas Department of Public Safety can each explain the piece it holds. A license-compliance notice is separate from a court warrant, so confirm the case with the office that sent it. That one step keeps a city citation, a Medina County ticket, and a state hold from blurring together.

Medina County Traffic Warrants Explained

A ticket may lead to a warrant after a missed setting or unpaid obligation, but the court named on the citation controls the sequence. City cases stay with that municipal court. A precinct citation belongs to the JP office listed on the paper. “Traffic warrant” may describe a court process, while an FTA/FTP report may separately affect license renewal.

Medina County has four JP courts and several city courts. The same city may contain both. Hondo PD citations go to Hondo Municipal Court; Devine's official court page directs DPS-issued tickets to JP4. Confirm venue before making a payment or asking for a reset.

Medina County Warrant Tickets Split by Court

JP1 and JP3 are in Hondo, JP2 is in Castroville, and JP4 is in Devine. The county justice page describes online payment for eligible not-yet-disposed tickets, but says juvenile tickets cannot be paid online and some alcohol-code cases involving minors require court instructions. The JP notice also says personal checks are not accepted for its mail-payment path.

City rules differ. Castroville asks a person to allow five business days after receiving a citation before contacting the clerk. Devine separates city police citations from DPS-issued tickets. A similar ticket type does not mean the same court has it.

Medina County Traffic Warrant Search Steps

Start with the issuing clerk and the citation number. Hondo's page lists search by name and date of birth, citation number, or case number. Lytle's portal offers multiple court search routes. If no online option is available, call the city or JP clerk rather than treating the sheriff's page as a traffic-ticket system.

  1. Read the court name and number on the ticket; for a Devine DPS ticket, call JP4.
  2. Use that court's official lookup, such as Hondo's name/DOB or citation/case search, or Lytle's portal.
  3. Call the clerk if the portal is blank, the case is old, or an FTA is reported.
  4. Ask if the court requires a personal appearance and whether counsel should help with a warrant or reset.

Medina County Warrant Search: Five Lytle Routes

The Lytle Municipal Online Services page separates citation plus date of birth, driver's license plus state and date of birth, vehicle plate plus state, first and last name plus date of birth, and business name. The page does not clearly mark every field as required. It is a municipal-court search, not proof that all Medina County traffic warrants appear there.

Medina County Traffic Warrant Record Fields

Local citation and warrant sources do not share one field set. Hondo's dated report shows a warrant number, date, offense, and several identity fields; the visible header does not show bond. A city list can be a useful pointer, but the issuing court must explain the current balance, appearance date, and whether the order was recalled.

Warrant / Citation No.The actual number is court-specific: Citation No.
Charge / OffenseUse the court's filed offense label; it may not show all later court events.
Issuing CourtMunicipal court or one of the four JP precincts, as printed on the citation.
Bond / Fine AmountAsk the issuing clerk; no countywide warrant amount was published.
StatusConfirm whether active, served, recalled, or still awaiting a court date.

Medina County Traffic Warrant Payments Stay Local

Hondo lists mail, in-person, or online payment and a 5% card fee; payment in lieu of appearance results in a conviction for that process. Devine lists 24/7 online citation payment with a $1 card convenience fee and $1.25 online maintenance fee. The JP mail path uses a money order or company check with a copy of the driver's license and plea. Do not carry one fee or payment rule to another court.

Castroville permits a written continuance request by fax, mail, or personal delivery and says the judge's policy is one reset. Ask whether a warrant changes that ordinary citation route and whether payment alone closes the case.

Medina County Traffic Warrant Resolution Steps

Payment, a reset, or a court appearance can have different effects. Call first and ask what is required to recall the warrant and what happens to the underlying citation. A payment may count as a plea or conviction in some court processes. Keep the receipt and ask for a new date or final status in writing.

  1. Confirm the court, active status, amount, and appearance requirement.
  2. Ask whether online payment, mailed payment, a personal appearance, or a reset is allowed in that case.
  3. If contesting the citation, ask the court or an attorney about bond and hearing steps.
  4. Get a receipt and confirm separately that the warrant is recalled and any reported hold is updated.

Warning: A payment screen does not confirm a court recall; ask the issuing clerk whether the warrant is cleared and a new date remains.

Medina County Warrant Holds Need Court Follow-Up

Texas DPS's Failure to Appear/Failure to Pay Program, commonly called OmniBase, concerns reported court compliance and license renewal. DPS says to contact each reporting court for the fine, fees, trial, payment arrangement, or appearance requirement. Its FAQ says license staff cannot provide warrant information. A hold and a court warrant are related in some cases but are not the same record.

DPS reports that an update can take up to seven business days after compliance; Hondo separately posts a two-to-three-day expectation for its own hold after full payment. Check both systems with the responsible office. Neither update period proves the underlying citation is complete.

Medina County Traffic Warrants and FTA Holds

One citation can produce more than one administrative or court event. A warrant authorizes arrest under the court process; an FTA records a missed appearance; DPS may show a separate reported compliance matter. Clear the question with each office that owns a part of the case.

MechanismWhat Triggers ItWhat It Does
Traffic warrantCourt process after a qualifying unpaid or missed obligationMay authorize arrest; issuer confirms status
FTA / FTP reportMissed date or unpaid matter reported by a courtCompliance issue; ask the reporting court for terms
DPS holdReported to the state programCan affect license renewal; not a warrant search result

Medina County JP Warrant Ticket Routes

Medina County's four Justice of the Peace precincts serve different areas and keep separate dockets: JP1 and JP3 are in Hondo, JP2 is in Castroville, and JP4 is in Devine. Use the court named on the citation rather than searching every office by city alone. The county justice page links online records for eligible not-yet-disposed tickets; it does not promise that an active warrant or juvenile matter will appear there.

The county's official Justice page maps the four precinct offices and their contact routes.
